What to Wear for the Holidays

I had the pleasure of writing a guest post for Cocktails and Conversation on what to wear for the holidays. Check out an excerpt below:

The holidays are here and women are contemplating on what to wear this year. However the question most women ponder over is what do I wear? For some this is an easy question, but for most women the decision on what to wear is a complete nightmare. It is important to have a general idea of what you would like to wear. First, check your invites so you are aware of the dress code. It would be a tragedy to show up to an event that is formal and you are dressed semi-formal. When deciding what to wear it is important that you know the difference with what you can wear to a work holiday party versus a night out with friends..... (read full article here)

Trend Alert: Winter White

This season many designers decided to break the rules. One Fashion directive that has been instilled in every girl or women is you cannot wear white after Labor Day. This year there was no such thing on the runway. In order to make sure you are wearing your winter white as fab as possible here are a few wardrobe ideas to consider:

Go for a deeper, creamy, or bluish white
Use the proper fabric (flannel, wool or a thicker cotton vs. linen which is for summer months)
Nudes are the most obvious color to pair when wearing white but to spice up your outfit opt for color
Dare to wear white to a semi-formal or formal event
Do not be afraid of a white pants suit

You've Got Mail

I have been getting a TON of FB Messages, Emails and even some text messages from people asking me fashion related questions. I am pretty sure that the questions that my readers are asking can be beneficial to other readers. From this point forward I will begin to share with you what questions I am asked and the response. If you have a questions you would like answered feel free to email me at perceptionandco@gmail.com.

"I have wide feet and big calves, is there anywhere I can get high boots from"?

Absolutely....the key is to shop around for the perfect fit. You also want to make sure you get boots that have a little elastic in the top of the boot for extra space. Check out MonifC.com for boots with wide with and extra calf space. Sites like Zappos.com are great for customers in need of shoes with a wide width also. On Zappos you are able to click the width and narrow your search down.

Style for Men: Marc Jacobs Sneakers

I don't get a chance to showcase a lot of stylish items for men however, when I come across something that is drool worthy I have to post it. The Marc Jacobs Quilted High-top Sneakers (priced at $530) from their Fall/Winter 2011 Collection are something to talk about. Marc Jacobs combined black leather and suede (for a classic yet clean feel), and added a quilted pattern giving the sneakers some flare. The white rubber soles make them a little more sporty. I would love to see these on the streets.

Ladies there is also a little something I wanted to add for you. During my recent vacation to Cape Cod I purchased some Marc Jacobs sneakers which are from their Women's Fall/Winter 2011 collection. I am not a sneaker person however I imagined all the great things I could wear with these sneakers and being a polka dot lover I was sold from the beginning. Thoughts Lovies?
