Accessory Designers Robot and Brucling Grabs Fashion by the Bowtie

Three words that come to mind when I think of Robot and Brucling are humble, spiritual and FASHION. I will even go a little further and say I believe they are Fashion Icons in the making. The Accessory Designers are young but talented and are a force to be reckoned with. I had the luxury to sit down with the Designers and we spoke about their background, competitors their long term goals and most importantly their new line.

Tell me a little about yourself?

Robot: "I am originally from Roxbury, Massachusetts, which is a Boston urban area. I am 23 years old. I am what one would consider a dreamer. I am in my own head a lot. It has been said that I am Robotic and Systematic, hence my name Robot. I have always had a passion for design. I took some coursed in High School and knew that eventually I wanted to have a Fashion Line. My background originated from high end retail (Ralph Lauren and Valentino) as well as styling."

Brucling: "I am from the Boston area as well Mattapan, Massachusetts to be exact. I have been sketching and designing since I was 5 years old. I have a passion for fine arts and special attention to detail. I have a background in high end retail. I used to work at Nordstroms."

The Perfect Little Black Dress

Since its initial introduction in 1926 by the infamous Coco Chanel, the little black dress has become the epitome of classic style. The most important clothing item in a women's closet is an LBD (little black dress). For those who are unaware an LBD is a simple yet timeless, staple piece that can be worn often. Have you ever faced the "I don't have anything to wear" dilemma? Owning the perfect LBD eliminates the stress of feeling you need to spend money on multiple items because the versatility is endless.

Angela Burt-Murray Resigns from Essence Magazine

A little over four months ago Essence (a Magazine which caters to the African American community) Editor-in-Chief Angela Burt-Murray made headlines due to hiring a Caucasian Fashion Director (Ellianna Placas). Burt-Murray made it clear to readers that her reason for hiring Elliana Placas was based on her resume working for both O: The Oprah Magazine and US Weekly. What is a Fashion Stylist/Image Consultant?

I have had many people ask me: What is a Fashion Stylist? Several have mistaken or compared the role of a Fashion Stylist to that of a Fashion Designer. The two differ tremendously, so I thought it would be best to give you some insight into the world of Styling. I am a Fashion Stylist/Image Consultant and have been for the past year. Although Designers and Stylist work together on a daily basis they are not one in the same.
