Have You Seen Fatima: Coifed by Tracy Balan at Rocawear Showroom

Thursday I had the pleasure of attending the Coifed by Tracy Balan Event at Rocawear Showroom in NYC. When we arrived we were greeted by the cutest child/hostess ever and brought to the step and repeat. After our photos were taken we walked into the showroom to an amazing hair exhibit. I have to say this event was one of a kind and it was evident that it took hardwork and dedication. The Models were strategically placed on podiums, topless but covered with unique body paint. (Kudos to the Models for standing in one spot for hours). There was some tasty hor' derves (my fave was the jerk chicken), ginger drinks (by Witches Brew) and the entertainment consisted of a contemporary violinist who accompanied a DJ. All guests departed with a heartfelt thank you from Celebrity Hair Stylist Tracy Balan and her crew along with a "goodie" bag. I had an absolute blast.

What I wore:
Blazer: Faith 21
Shoes: Steve Madden Wedges
Clutch: Steve Madden
Jeans: Source of Wisdom: London Street Skinny Jeans
Earrings: H&M

I have been getting a TON of FB Messages, Emails and even some text messages from people asking me fashion related questions. I am pretty sure that the questions that my readers are asking can be beneficial to other readers. From this point forward I will begin to share with you what questions I am asked and the response. If you have a questions you would like answered feel free to email me at perceptionandco@gmail.com.

"I have wide feet and big calves, is there anywhere I can get high boots from"?

Absolutely....the key is to shop around for the perfect fit. You also want to make sure you get boots that have a little elastic in the top of the boot for extra space. Check out MonifC.com for boots with wide with and extra calf space. Sites like Zappos.com are great for customers in need of shoes with a wide width also. On Zappos you are able to click the width and narrow your search down.

H&M Grand Reopening

Thursday 10/20/11 I attended the H&M grand reopening at Crossgates Mall. The new layout is now 2 floors; the top floor is womens and children and the bottom floor is mens. When I originally heard about the new layout I was psyched because I assumed it would mimic either New York City or Vegas locations but that was not the case. I was completely let down. It wasn't much different then the original location. They did however have a great DJ....DJ Dave from the Bronx (my hometown). I also loved the graffiti like art above the stairs. My mom accompanied me and she wasn't impressed either. Have you seen the new store and if so what are your thoughts?

Where Can I Find...

Zoe Saldana was spotted in L.A. as she spent the day at the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic in a button-down Jason Wu print dress. She accented the dress with teardrop Ippolita earrings, a Jack Vartanian serpent ring and patent leather Brian Atwood Zenith Platform pumps. Pictured below is the Brian Atwood Zenith Watersnake Platform Pumps priced at $885. Check them out at saksfifthavenue.com

Fab Finds Under Fifty

Melody Ehsani's Native Feather Earrings are an ABSOLUTE "fab find under fifty". The color blocking pattern of red, turquoise and black make these earrings one of a kind. It's always great to have a statement piece in your jewelry box that you can pair with something simple or spice it up and get funky. $42 for a fab find is a recessionistas dream. HAPPY SHOPPING!

FATionista's at LARGE: Item of the Week

Forever 21+ 's leatherette trim fleece poncho is an essential piece for your Fall Wardrobe. The Poncho and swing coat trend resurfaced last year (Fall 2010) and is still going strong. The leather like trimming gives an added flair to this particular poncho. I am a huge fan of swing coats because they have the ability to jazz up an outfit yet they are comfy and most times warm. Priced at $42.80 I would have to say this is a FAB FIND UNDER FIFTY!!! Thoughts Lovies?

Sassy Stylish Shoe: Christian Louboutin Splash Fur

The Christian Louboutin "Splash Fur" peep toe sandal (from the Fall 2011 Collection) will make you want to connect with your inner animal. The fox fur slingback priced at $1,595 has me wanting to take a walk on the wild side. Camel being a neutral color is always great for the Fall but the question is are you daring enough to pay the price tag for a call of the wild?

Fashion News: Rachel Bilson Launches Shoe Line

Rachel Bilson has announced that she’s collaborating with Stylist Nicole Chavez to launch ShoeMint, a budget-friendly shoe line that will be available online only. The footwear line will be available on ShoeMint.com in November. Thoughts Lovies?

Quote of the Week

"Today, fashion is really about sensuality-how a woman feels on the inside. In the '80s women used suits with exaggerated shoulders and waists to make a strong impression. Women are now more comfortable with themselves and their bodies-they no longer feel the need to hide behind their clothes. " -Donna Karan

Marvelous Misses: Kim Kardashian

Reality Star Kim Kardashian took a cue from Pop Star Lady Gaga and opted for a bold Houndstooth print Salvatore Ferragamo wrap dress during her recent visit to the Today Show. The dress comes from the Fall 2011 Collection. Kim paired it with Casadei pumps and a bold red lip. Thought Lovies?

Amazing Accessories: Asos Handheld Bag

It's no secret that Navy is one of my favorite colors and that's what initially sparked my interest about this handbag. I'm a firm believer in quality over quantity however this bag is ADORABLE. Priced at $54 this faux leather bag is an absolute STEAL. The contrast in color: navy to burnt orange is very Fallesque. To purchase the ASOS Zip Base Handheld Bag click here.
