Are You Willing To Pay A Fine For Your Knockoff

People buying counterfeit luxury bags from New York City's Chinatown will soon suffer serious consequences. Chinatown Councilwoman Margaret Chin has constructed a bill that would fine buyers $1,000 for purchasing knockoff Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Prada, Fendi and Hermes bags, among other fakes. Councilwoman Chin has stated that money made from purchaseing these fake handbags are most often used to fuel other illegal acts. The bill is set to be introduced to congress for discussion and voting on Thursday.


I have to agree with this bill and if I was congress I would vote yay. I truly work hard to enjoy the finer things in life as should everyone else. If you are not willing to invest in an expensive handbag that is your choice however, these investments should not be mimicked and readily available to those not willing to spend the money.

Angela Burt-Murray Resigns from Essence Magazine

A little over four months ago Essence (a Magazine which caters to the African American community) Editor-in-Chief Angela Burt-Murray made headlines due to hiring a Caucasian Fashion Director (Ellianna Placas). Burt-Murray made it clear to readers that her reason for hiring Elliana Placas was based on her resume working for both O: The Oprah Magazine and US Weekly. Her decision caused an uproar amongst black women and men. Angela has now made headlines again for her choice to resign from the Magazine.

Congrats to Mariah and Nick Cannon

In a candid interview with Access Hollywood (in her NYC home) Mariah Carey announced that she is in fact pregnant and is really excited. Her hubby popped in the interview a little later stating that he is also excited about the news. Mariah suffered a miscarriage with her first pregnancy (and hold only told one person). She also revealed that she does not want to know what the sex is and is in fact excited to be surprise on the day of delivery. Congrats to the couple from Pereception & Co.
