Fatima Tan’ia, (and yes that is her real name), is one of the many individuals I’m happy that I got a chance to meet. Wearing a number of hats, her first title is being a child of God. After that, she is a fashion stylist/image consultant, a fashion blogger (for the top fashion blog in the capital region), a fashion correspondent for Jamz 96.3 in the capital region (Fashion Fridays with Fatima and Tanch, which airs every Friday at 1:30), and a fashion editor for The Examiner. Oh and did I forget to add that she’s a great multi-tasker!

Nicki Minaj Covers V Magazine

Nicki Minaj covers the upcoming Spring issue of V magazine, scheduled to hit newsstands later this week. I have to say I love this cover.....There is no hype, or gimmick just plain ol' Nicki. The simplicity of the one hair color, pink lipstick and lack of outrageous facial expressions has me SOLD! There is a time and a place for everything and Nicki toned it down tremendously. Thoughts Lovies?

Accessory Designers Robot and Brucling Grabs Fashion by the Bowtie

Three words that come to mind when I think of Robot and Brucling are humble, spiritual and FASHION. I will even go a little further and say I believe they are Fashion Icons in the making. The Accessory Designers are young but talented and are a force to be reckoned with. I had the luxury to sit down with the Designers and we spoke about their background, competitors their long term goals and most importantly their new line.

Tell me a little about yourself?

Robot: "I am originally from Roxbury, Massachusetts, which is a Boston urban area. I am 23 years old. I am what one would consider a dreamer. I am in my own head a lot. It has been said that I am Robotic and Systematic, hence my name Robot. I have always had a passion for design. I took some coursed in High School and knew that eventually I wanted to have a Fashion Line. My background originated from high end retail (Ralph Lauren and Valentino) as well as styling."

Brucling: "I am from the Boston area as well Mattapan, Massachusetts to be exact. I have been sketching and designing since I was 5 years old. I have a passion for fine arts and special attention to detail. I have a background in high end retail. I used to work at Nordstroms."

Make-Up and Fashion Coincide

I had the pleasure of sitting down with Capital Region/NYC based Make-up Artist Ginna Clark and we discussed how fashion and make-up coincide as well as some 2010/2011 trends. Ginna is a rising star in her field and is quickly becoming a highly recognizable talent. Her client list is extensive and her ambitious attitude made our interview one of a kind.



When did your love of makeup begin?

"My love of make up began at a very young, maybe 4 or 5. My mother gave me so much attentive love and hands on education with the importance of being a lady and it became the root of our bond. She stressed having good etiquette and made learning & loving my femininity so much fun. I understood being a woman was an empowering luxury...a gift."
