Black Girls Rock!

In honor of the premiere of Black Girls Rock (on BET today at 8pm) we at Perception & Co. wanted to spotlight the talented, fearless and beautiful Nia Long. Her timeless beauty and her positive spirits are illuminating. Nia Long is a great role model for African American girls and women. It is completely understandable why Black Girls Inc would have Nia Long host their first show. She is more than worthy.

BLACK GIRLS ROCK Inc. a nonprofit organization that launched in 2006, has been dedicated to the healthy development of young women and girls ages 12-17. BLACK GIRLS ROCK Inc. seeks to build the self-esteem and self-worth of young women of color by changing their outlook on life, broadening their horizons, and helping them to empower themselves. BLACK GIRLS ROCK Inc. is an organization that takes an active role in being a part of the solution to the crisis facing young women of color. (info from BET Black Girls Rock! )
Tonight for the first time ever the show will premiere, honoring: Missy Elliott, Keke Palmer, Raven Symone, Ruby Dee, Teresa Clarke, Rev. Dr. Iyanla Vanzant and Major General Marcelite J. Harris. We are truly excited to tune-in to this show. It is very rare that there are African American women celebrating other positive Black women for their hard work and efforts.

Be sure to take the Black Girls Rock! Pledge. Make sure you tune in and support Black Girls Rock! Inc. and the brilliance of Black women.

Tell me why you rock?
